SERIOUS FUN have a young people’s steering group that are involved in all aspects of the barge. Up until now the group have helped to make decisions on the build of the barge, the launch party and have become involved in other work such as updating our review forms.

The group was the first young people to use the barge for a weekend, they completed the Complete Crew Course Training as part of the weekend. To see some pictures of the weekend click here or on the link (left).

The steering group have also done other training including Food Hygiene to enable them to help our adult volunteers on the barge in the future.

Some of the group hope to go on to do the skippers course when they are old enough to and volunteer with SERIOUS FUN. Others have joined the group for different reason and would like to help plan activities and do work with serious fun in different ways.

Now the barge is in the water the group have been looking for a new focus’s. They have decided that they would like to contribute to the web site and keep it updated.

The group will also be doing other things which at the moment are in the idea stages these may include a training DVD for other young people, a video of how to use equipment on the boat and other suggestions.
